Patient Recommendation
David's ParentsMay, 2010 David is a five-year-old boy who was born premature. He has right-sided hemiperesis with moderate spasticity on his right hand and right leg. He walked on his right toes most of the time and need a splint for his fisted right hand. He was also severely speech delayed. Mei has been working with David, doing mostly acupressure, massage, stretching, and also some acupuncture, for the past six months on a one-hour-per-week basis to reduce spaciticity of David’s right limbs and enhance his speech ability. David has been making progress with each session. His right arm is much more relaxed; he does not need the splint for the hand anymore. He is able to point with the index finger and give the thumbs up, and he is using the right hand and fingers more and more. He is able to stand with his right leg and foot firmly on the ground now, although he still has a tendency walking on his right toes, and needs to be reminded constantly to put his heels down while he is walking. His vocabulary has increased and his pronunciation has been getting clearer as well. David was receiving occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy for four years. However, with Ms. Mei’s treatments for the past six months, David has been making remarkable and more prompt progress. We are pleased with the results of Ms. Mei’s combined Eastern and Western medicine techniques. Thank you Ms. Mei. Sincerely, David’s parents
